Lodging for Breeders Cup 2015 in Lexington will be hot

Resurfacing to give you a heads-up.

As usual, I spent some time at the Massachusetts Equine Affaire. You’ll see more about that in upcoming posts, perhaps spread across the winter to ease the malaise from all the cold and ice.

Anyway, at Equine Affair’s Lexington, Kentucky, convention and visitors booth, I picked up a hot tip, especially if you plan to attend the 2015 Breeder’s Cup races at Keeneland.

Book your #BC2015 lodging ASAP.

Because the University of Tennessee Volunteers will be playing the University of Kentucky Wildcats on Day Two of #BC15.

You may be thinking, so what?

UT vs UK is a classic, decades-long sports rivalry. Think “Yankees vs Red Sox.”

Plus, its a home game at UK. At UK’s Commonwealth Stadium, the stands will be a sea of royal blue with pockets of bright orange.

When you add out-of-state UK and UT alums to the usual football fans who “bleed blue,” Lexington will be packed.

So, you might need to find hotel rooms outside from Lexington, unless you book ASAP, as in, nearly a year out.

Remember my hotel tips for the 2010 World Equestrian Games?

But that’s not all.

Adding to the fun? The second day of Breeders Cup, the day they run the Breeders Cup Classic, and the TN/UK game will also be Halloween.

Trick or treat, y’all. 🙂
