Sad but true. No Kentucky Derby on ESPN this year, but all we have to do is change the channel.
We can watch the Derby undercard, the Oaks and even the post position draw on Versus, which used to be the old OLN (Outdoor Life Network.)
Here’s all the 2011 Kentucky Derby week coverage so far. Check your local listings.
The really good news is that, the odds are good that you have Versus on your cable system.
And I see that Versus has finally added a Horses page to its drop-down menu banner and linked to the NBC Sports “Horses” page. Versus is owned by NBCUniversal, which is a subsidiary of Comcast.
Versus is covering 14 hours of Derby, so we can geek out like we did in “the old days” of five years ago. They’ll even have the Post Position Draw on Wednesday, May 4.
Anyway, again, here’s a complete listing of Kentucky Derby coverage from the official Derby website.
On Saturday morning, at 9:30 am EDT, HRTV will get us up to speed. Around 9 am EDT, Versus and HRTV will have live racing from Churchill, which is another way of saying “the Derby undercard.”
As some folks in Louisville say, “Have a good Derby.”
