Not long after I began blogging ten (?) years ago, I heard about bloggers attending and learning at South By Southwest, aka SXSW. Like an annual World’s Fair with a touch of the Texas State Fair Does Tomorrowland, SXSW has expanded into a glimpse into the future for both the arts and technology. What I saw both sparked my imagination and worried me.
A video about the Keeneland Library’s collection from the Daily Racing Form
If you’re in or near Lexington and enjoy horse racing history, swing by Keeneland to checkout the library. You can look up some stories from racing’s past. Or admire the equine art on display. Or gaze at the sweeping vistas of Bluegrass pastureland from the windows. Or collect your thoughts far from the roars and stresses of the crowds.
As the instructor and participants said, visitors are welcome to come by and watch them work.
After all, that’s the point of having artists-in-residence at the park.
The studio door is open. Let’s go inside.
