Happy New Year! Time to dig out those blue suede shoes. This is Elvis Week at The Horsey Set Net.
Jan. 8 is Elvis’s birthday. He was born in 1935.
In the next several posts this week, we’re going to look at some of Elvis’s horses, check out where they lived (I bet you don’t know about one of his stables, unless you’re a fervent Elvis fan) and see who’s carrying out the Elvis equestrian tradition in the 21st century.
A little less conversation, you say? Perhaps a preview of coming attractions?
The black horse in the middle, I’m thinking, might be Ebony’s Double, one of Elvis’s Tennessee Walking Horses. FWIW, I realize that my level of certainty leaves a lot to be desired, but i see a lot of conflicting info out there.
After all, that horse could very easily be Bear. Or Colonel Midnight. All three were black Tennessee Walking Horses. The plot thickens …
But I’m inclined to think it’s Ebony’s Double.
It’s enough to get me all shook up.
So, if you know for sure which one of of Elvis’s horses that is, please be sure to sing out in the comments below.
Cuz I know that some of y’all out there know …

Elvis Presley’s Stables, Then and Now – Elvis had two properties for horses. One’s world famous, one’s up for sale. And one continues with that legendary Elvisian generosity.

Hope someone answers the question. Now I’ll be thinking about a ‘hunka, hunka burning love’ all day.

Uh oh … brace yourself, Susie. Because I’ve got several Elvis posts planned for this week.
With any luck, though, we’ll get a different earworm playing in your head. Thanks for saying “Hi,” and Happy New Year!
