We interrupt our usual Triple Crown season coverage of all-racing, all the time for a non-racing news bulletin.
Have you read “The Horse Boy?” Did you see “The Horse Boy” movie when it was touring?
Now’s our chance to see the film on PBS.
On “Independent Lens”
The PBS series “Independent Lens” will air “The Horse Boy” on May 11, Tuesday night. Check your local listings for times and possible re-airs.
In “The Horse Boy,” a family with a young autistic son rolls the dice, so to speak, on a remarkable horseback journey over the Mongolian steppes. They’re on what amounts to a last-ditch quest for the healing of their profoundly autistic son.
What will happen as this family takes an arduous horseback journey into Mongolia? Will they succeed? Will the revered shamans be able to accomplish what modern medicine could not?
