This weekend isn’t only about bunnies. Or chocolate. Because the fragrance of roses is getting stronger …
Holiday weekend or not — two dozen guests coming for Sunday dinner or not — put down those chores to catch two of the major Kentucky Derby prep races this Saturday.
The Wood Memorial and the Santa Anita Derby will be broadcast live on NBC Saturday at 5 pm EDT.
Thank you, Hello Race Fans, for the heads-up. And a very big thank you goes to The Aspiring Horse Player for giving us the times.

Rhonda,
Just wanted to let you know, I’m showing a 5:12 PM (ET) post for the Wood at Aqueduct, and a 5:37 PM (ET) post for the Santa Anita Derby.
Strangely, the little blurb I get on Directv for the 5PM programming on NBC is just “The Santa Anita Derby – LIVE from Arcadia, California” – with no mention of the Wood.
No worries though – all the articles I’ve seen on Bloodhorse and Thoroughbred Times confirm both races will be shown.
Now if only we could get the Illinois Derby as well! (oh well…I’ll take what we can get).
Thanks for the link, BTW.

Thanks for the clarification, Kevin. I’m glad they stagger the post times between the two races.
I agree about the Illinois. I doublechecked to make sure that NBC wasn’t covering that one, too, especially since it’s that day.
Thanks for stopping by.
