Probably not. And I know I’m not.
But Tracy Pinson & Skyjacker’s Mountain High, aka Tuff, are. They won the non-pro division of the 2009 World Finals of the Extreme Cowboy Race late last year in Topeka, Kansas.

And I’m not surprised about their big win, although some horse people using Twitter were.
They kept re-tweeting (Twitter talk for “forwarding” this message) this message from @EquineChronicle.
#Horse News: Extreme Cowboy Race Non-Pro Champ is a…Tennessee Walking Horse?! Congrats Tracy Pinson & Skyjacker’s Mountain High aka Tuff
Okay, y’all at @EquineChronicle get a “pass” because you’re an American Quarter Horse-oriented publication. Had an off-the-track Thoroughbred won the Extreme Cowboy Race, y’all probably would have been just as surprised.
Come to find out, Tuff and Tracy have been around winning titles all along, even in Extreme Cowboy Race. Here’s an article about Tuff and Tracy winning the national non-pro title from earlier in 2009.
Tuff, a 7-year-old stallion, has won TWH versatility championships. His sire Coin’s Skyjacker was another multi-world champion in versatility and even won a Florida “Battle of the Breeds,” according to Tracy’s statement.
Over on the Extreme Cowboy Association’s website are the scores from the World Finals. Each horse and rider competed in three rounds. You can scroll down to find Tuff and Tracy’s scores.
The video you saw earlier is from the final round. Let’s take a look at Tuff & Tracy’s run in Round 2, which according to the score sheet was her highest scored round.

While we’re at it, let’s check out their first round.

Ahh, I LOVE the Extreme Cowboy Race. And it’s awesome that a TWH won the finals. I saw it for the first time at Equine Affaire Ohio last year, and you can bet I’ll be checking it out again this year. I love the creative things the riders do to win style points, and the training these horses have is superb. And they look like they are just having so much fun.

Believe it or not, I hadn’t seen it. I had to leave before the demo at the Massachusetts Equine Affaire. I just wish the someone up in New England would form a group. We do have Cowboy Mounted Shooting up here, but not this. Yet.
