Heads up, y’all.
After I did some whining about it on Twitter, the Bloodhorse came through with the news that we can watch the Keeneland September Yearling Sale live over the Internet for free.
If your cable system has HorseRacingTV (HRTV), you can watch it on TV in the comfort of your living room. Lucky you.
I don’t think the cable channels will carry the entire 14 day sale. Be sure to check your local listings.
But, for those of us with cable systems that ignore horse racing (you know who you are, Cox Communications, Meriden, CT), the Internet comes through again.
Again, the usual caveats apply. Windows Media is the preferred player. It’s better with broadband. Your mileage will vary.
The sale starts Monday, Sept. 14, and runs through Sept. 28. The first horse comes out at 10 am EDT. They have 5,189 yearlings to sell, so the action will be fast and furious. And they’re taking a break on Friday, Sept. 18. Otherwise, it’s all day, every day. As long as there are horses to sell until Sept. 28.
Here’s Keeneland’s link to the live sales video.
Come to think of it, I probably can’t snark about my cable company too much. After all, how do I get my cable broadband Internet?
Um, through Cox Communications, Meriden, CT.
