The “Twitter Round-up” seems to be turning into a regular feature here. Because there’s some juicy stuff flying around the micr0blogging service that you might enjoy.
I’d save them for later, but news on Twitter is fleeting. Let’s look at some of this while it’s somewhat fresh, at least for this month.
- An Arabian horse show on the West Bank with Israeli and Palestinian exhibitors. This is your gate call — give peace a chance.
- @CopiousNotes gave us dish about the upcoming Secretariat movie.
- @franjurga let us know that Aug. 1 is the Jan. 1 birthday for all thoroughbreds in the southern hemisphere. Make your calculations in time for the Melbourne Cup, which is always held on the first Tuesday in November.
- I never miss a chance to tweak Boston’s Mayor Menino for breaking up the city’s mounted police unit. Peter Hermann of the Baltimore Sun told us how a child managed to raise more than $2,300 for the mounted police horses. (Hear that, Mayor Menino? A child raised money to save her beloved police horses.)
- NYT bestselling author Tami Hoag donated a signed copy of her novel “Kill the Messenger” to the Helping Horses Help Kids benefit.
