Just in case you haven’t gotten enough Belmont material, we’ve got a whole lot of stuff for you, so you can geek out on The Big Race.

From traditions to history, settle in and take a look.

Jackie at Regarding Horses gives an overview of this year’s race and a chance to relive Mine That Bird’s stunning romp in the Derby.

Maryjean Wall has her alphabet ode to the Belmont. I thought sure she’d get hung up toward x, y and z. But no way, Jose Santos. ;)

Belmont Stakes traditions – some old, some new and some long gone – are listed on this site.

Check this Belmont site for the lyrics to the songs, both the old one and the new one. Which one would you enjoy belting out  after a few drinks? Apparently, you’re not the only one.

Speaking of, pick your poison among the variety of Belmont drinks. The Belmont Breeze? Or a Long Island Iced Tea? Or something else?

What IS a Belmont Breeze anyway? I’m glad you asked. Here are a couple of recipes.

Here’s one from the official Belmont Breeze from the official Belmont website. And here’s another Belmont Stakes drink, too.

Whatever the case, the Belmont Stakes is considered The Test of Champions. Enjoy the race.

On the Belmont’s official website there’s lots of good stuff, including video of Calvin Borel ringing the bell at the New York Stock Exchange. And his other adventures in the city this week.

If you’re not at the track, find out when to watch the Belmont here.
