Thanks, Mitch, for stopping by and your encouragement. Believe it or not, you've made my day.

Yes, The Belmont is the "Test of Champions." That final stretch run is what tells the tale. I agree that Mine That Bird shown that he might have the stamina and heart to go the distance. I hope he does it. 50-1, my Aunt Fanny. ;) ;)

Watching the undercard is a great way to monitor track conditions - and get a look at other emerging stars. Jerry Bailey has ridden some of the horses still out there and gives great insight into what that horse is -- or is not -- capable of. He also knows the jocks and can discuss how their riding styles fit a particular moutn.

And allow me to give Mitch a little plug here (and not the four-legged kind.) Mitch, aka "Miami Mitch," runs The Sports Chat Place. If you're seriously into sports, he's got it all - even a new horse racing page.

The Belmont is always one of the better of the triple crown races and usually sports the smallest field so there's no excuses. Mine That Bird looks to be the one to beat, especially with his late running style he used to win at Churchill and which he came up just short 3 weeks ago at Pimlico. There's always a wild card or two and this Saturday will be no different. While I don't usually watch all of the hype, I usually take in the whole undercard just to see how the track is playing out. Good Luck to all!! and thanks Rhonda for the awesome site :)
