I hope NBC Sports doesn’t come after me for using a screenshot I took during its previous racing coverage. It depicts where and when to watch coverage of the 2015 Breeders Cup on NBC properties. (Oops. I missed the handicapping show.)
There are, no doubt, other online venues in which to watch. I haven’t tracked them down yet because I’ve been preoccupied.
We’re having big technical difficulties on The Horsey Set Net. I’m hoping this won’t be our last blog post here.
I never wanted to end this blog this way, the way it may happen. I do believe in working for The Best but preparing for The Worst.
My Webhost Since The Beginning insists I’m using too many web hosting resources, even though I haven’t posted daily for about six years now. Some months, I only post twice a month. Still, they want me to pay a lot more money for all the space my two small websites hog on their servers.
My Spideysense suspects they have an arbitrary “calendar” for prompting the upsell to more space and services. I also suspect their preferred customer base is far more commercial than artistic and speculative, let alone niche-y.
Alrightythen. We know when we’re not welcome anymore. We’re moving.
I started the website migration process by renting space elsewhere. My blog tech Denise said I could handle it okay, except I managed to flub it Big Time seven years ago in my initial set up of everything. Now, it’s surfacing and giving me agita.
When I gave Denise the keys to my website homes, she told me I’d set up the move for a single site, not two. I thought I’d set up for two. I was certain I’d set up for two.
So, I’ll be calling my new web host today, but the possibility exists I may have to choose websites.
The sad truth is, I’ll have to choose the one with my name as the domain name: rhondalane.com . That’s where my future books will be, where my future will be.
Still, I’m hoping I don’t have to choose. With any luck, we’ll be all business-as-usual here for a long while to come.
Speaking of …
Where/when to watch the 2015 Breeder’s Cup
NBC has the main TV rights. As with the Triple Crown races, your regular NBC TV station will have the main coverage starting at 4 pm EST on Saturday and wrapping up around 6.
The rest is on NBC Sports cable network. Cable has the entire Friday schedule starting at 3 pm EST. On Saturday, cable apparently skips the Juvenile Fillies and the Turf Sprint to pick up at 1 pm EST for the Filly-Mare Turf. “Regular” NBC takes over coverage at 4 pm EST.
Oh, yeah, on Saturday don’t forget to set your clocks back. It’s Fall Back Day.
