We’re back!

Thank you for your patience! 🙂 You may have noticed – or not, and that’s okay, too – we’ve been gone since right before the year-end holidays.

What the heck happened?

My access to write and post articles here to The Horsey Set Net crashed. (To you WordPressers, I couldn’t access my dashboard.)

For readers, nothing was amiss. You could search and read the blog and have no idea, except the dateline on that previous post, that something was amiss.

I couldn’t figure out what went wrong. I tried to repair it, but the problem was way over my head, basically deep in the wiring of the blog.

Even worse? I couldn’t reach any of you loyal readers to tell you we were having technical difficulties.

I sent out hails to my various brain trusts; i.e., writer’s groups.

A member of the Connecticut Romance Writers Association replied.

Y A and romance author Denise Alicea, who also runs the promotion company Moons Stardust Design, emailed me and suggested a potentially corrupt WordPress plug-in caused the problems. I was eager to try to do it myself. Denise probably knew better and told me I could contact her when I needed to.

Well, it was beyond my technical capabilities. So, I emailed Denise who got the blog running again.

And here we are.

Thank you for your patience.

You readers keep me going. I’ve been keeping an eye out for goodies for us, plus y’all know what Valentine’s Day means — the Derby Trail is just around the corner.

Next up will be the network and cable TV schedules for the spring races.

Hi, Judy! Thanks! Yeah, it was frustrating. Ya know, I’ve had good luck with plug-ins, up until that one. The update I did of Google Analytics right before Thanksgiving turned out to be corrupt. (Denise told me that. I sure couldn’t figure it out on my own.) One thing the whole folderol taught me was to make more frequent site backups. The backups saved our patooties here.

Thanks, Susie. I missed you guys, too. Hated I had no way to contact y’all to let you know. Facebook is undependable, and Twitter is a firehose, even organized with lists. So, I wished I’d had a mailing list just to update y’all.

Whoops, I didn’t mean to submit that. Hooray that you are back, now will you make a comment on what you thought of the Super Bowl commercials–especially the Clydesdales? Or did I miss your take on it, oh sage one?

I’m intrigued by the thought of that Kuwaiti horse show, thanks so much for posting that!

Has anyone ever died from cabin fever?

Hiya, Fran! I haven’t commented on the Super Bowl commercial yet. I just — as in, The Day Before Yesterday — got the blog back online. (Actually, Denise got the blog back online. I only wrote the post. 🙂 )

Anyway, I know I should write about the Budweiser commercial soon, but I rashly promised the Derby prep schedule for TV as the next post. Then again, perhaps I already blew that with the Kuwait horse show notice. 😉 😉

FWIW, we’ve got several live streams of horse shows coming up. Perhaps they’ll help us get through this already too-long winter?

Hi, HayNet (Jacqui?) – Thanks! And thanks for the heads-up. I’m not yet awake, but you made my day. 🙂
