Thank you, NBC Sports!

Thank you, NBC Sports, for updating us viewers during the broadcast about Clenor, the filly jockey Tyler Baze pulled up in the Senorita Stakes at Santa Anita Park.

Instead of leaving us wondering and thinking the worst, your announcers told us during the live telecast that she was fine.

A check of trainer Doug O’Neil’s Twitter feed confirms it. Shortly after the race, O’Neill tweeted:

The next morning, O’Neill reported:

So, thank you for posting the news ASAP. Knowing what’s happening keeps fans in the loop and imaginations in check. The update on Clenor is way classier than the way TV coverage handled the breakdown of the breakdown of Mars on Dubai World Cup day.

Keeping fans in the loop is good for racing.  We’d rather know than wonder.

Summer of TV racing

BTW, here’s the schedule for TV’s Breeders’ Cup Challenge broadcasts. We’ll have a busy summer and fall.

Thanks for reporting on this, Rhonda! I missed this completely and I’m sure lots of others did too. It’s so important to bring attention when things are done right!

Thanks, Fran. I didn’t want to not mention it, even this late. IMO, accentuating the positive is important, too.
