I don’t know about you, but I passed jolly in this “Season to be Jolly” about ten miles ago. So, let’s have some fun.
Some cowboys serenaded a little lady at a games expo. Let’s watch.
What in the Sam Hill was that about? Let’s find out.
Three “cowboys” emerged from the crowd to pony up a surprise for actress Felicia Day, who plays Penny in the previously online-only musical “Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog.”
Soon, life imitated art.
Three fans in cowboy hats, all decked out like Bad Horse’s trio of henchmen, surrounded her and broke into song. The Bad Horse song.
Bad Horse is the criminal mastermind, super-villain leader of the uber-gang The Evil League of Evil in “Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog.” He is portrayed by Dobber, a real horse.
Watching Miss Day’s reactions shift from surprise to embarrassment and then to participation — which ends appropriately with the cowboys slipping back into the crowd, just as their counterparts did in the musical — is priceless.
You can even watch it for free. But this, however, is not for free:
The DVD offers extras. My own copy, as of this writing, is enroute.
Or you can sing along in your car as you dash about on your holiday errands. Or, in this economy, driving to new job interviews.
Come to think of it, I wonder if the ELE is accepting applications now?
I recommend either as a chaser for all the holiday treacle.
