An 80 year old trainer won his twelfth Melbourne Cup.

Think about it. It’s the “staying championship of the world.” And it’s been going on for 148 years. And he’s won 12 of them.

Bart Cummings’s horse Viewed squeaked past second place horse Bauer by a nose, almost by just a nostril. The timing of a surging move could have changed the outcome of the race.
